Mary McCarthy Society call for papers at 30th American Literature Association Convention

The Mary McCarthy Society will sponsor a panel at the American Literature Association Annual Convention in Boston, MA, May 23-26, 2019.

Call for Papers: The Many Lives of Mary McCarthy

With the recent reissuing of Mary McCarthy’s fiction by Library of America (Thomas Mallon, ed. 2017), this panel will consider all aspects of Mary McCarthy’s life and works. Some perspectives might include Mary McCarthy’s contribution as a fiction writer, public intellectual, satirist, feminist, political activist, social commentator, and friend. Comparative readings of McCarthy in relation to other writers and literary and cultural movements are welcome. Please send 250 word abstract and brief bio to by January 10, 2019.
